Corporate Partner Spotlight with Obrela

Website:www.obrela.com

Tell us a bit about the history of your company, number of employees, when the company was founded etc:-

Obrela has been providing Managed Cyber Security, Risk & Compliance and Incident Response services for more than 15 years with 300 employees across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

All of our original founders remain actively involved in the business today which is a reflection of the stability, continuity and long-term commitment that defines Obrela as an organisation.

That longevity is directly relevant to our insurance partners: we are not a start-up taking on risk we cannot handle. We are a mature, operationally proven business with deep institutional knowledge of how cyber incidents unfold – and, crucially, how to resolve them.

What are the main services you offer your customers?

Obrela is an NCSC Assured and CREST accredited provider of 24/7 Incident Response and Managed Security Services — the two accreditations most commonly required for cyber insurance IR panel appointment in the UK market. We also have other relevant accreditations for other international markets.

We are a pure service provider: we do not sell hardware or software. Instead, we wrap our expert-led services around a client’s existing security infrastructure. This vendor-neutral model ensures there are no conflicts of interest when advising or supporting a policyholder mid-claim, and no incentive to over-scope remediation.

We also offer Managed Risk & Controls (MRC) which is a service-based approach to Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC).  This is delivered from the same integrated platform as our operational security services. This means insurers and MGA partners can access Cyber Risk Assessments, Incident Response Preparedness, real-time Managed Security and Compliance Management through a single provider relationship, supporting risk quality oversight across the full policy lifecycle.

White paper on rethinking exposure: why the “patch everything” model is failing the modern enterprise.

For IR panel managers specifically, Obrela offers:

•  NCSC and CREST accredited Incident Response, available 24/7/365

•  Rapid mobilisation with forensic evidence preservation to support regulatory reporting and post-incident litigation.

• Direct integration into the insurer’s claims workflow alongside loss adjusters and legal counsel

•  Multi-geography capacity across UK, Europe and the Middle East

Describe your perfect target customer or business problem:-

We are actively seeking appointments to IR panels with carriers and insurers who require NCSC and CREST accredited, 24/7 response capability.

We are also looking to partner with MGAs to co-develop innovative cyber product offerings that wrap our services around policy coverage — creating differentiated propositions for policyholders and improved loss ratios for providers.

We work with insurance providers and intermediaries to improve loss ratios through better pre-breach risk management, faster incident containment, and comprehensive post-incident remediation. We are known for being flexible and commercially creative.

We are open to referral arrangements, white-label delivery, revenue-share structures, and named-panel appointments embedded within policy wording.

Provide some examples of recent projects/professional high points that you’ve worked on?

Client engagements are confidential, but our partnerships demonstrate the scale and complexity of environments we are trusted to protect and respond within:

  • Global Retail: supporting one of the world’s largest retailers through active cyber incidents and ongoing managed security

  • NGO / Third Sector: delivering managed security services to one of the world’s largest non-governmental organisations

  • Financial Services & Fintech: trusted by multiple leading Fintech providers for ongoing MDR and IR services

  • Critical Infrastructure & Public Sector: recognised as a thought leader at industry-defining events alongside NATO and the European Space Agency, giving Obrela early awareness of emerging threat actors and attack patterns from geopolitically sensitive environments

Brief details about upcoming projects?

We are actively working with insurance providers to develop new service offerings for the market including pre-breach monitoring programmes that can be bundled with cyber policy coverage, and structured IR response arrangements designed to integrate directly into claims processes.

We welcome conversations with carriers, MGAs and brokers who are looking to strengthen their cyber proposition or expand their IR panel capability.
