Together, we explored Rewriting the Rules: Driving Human-Centred Change with AI in Insurance and the conversations were full of energy and practical insight. Here’s the top takeaways from the discussion:

1️⃣ Change is inevitable and accelerating - but people are at the heart of it. The panel agreed that the pace of change in insurance (and more broadly) is faster than ever, driven by technology and AI. However, the biggest barrier is people; their emotions, resistance, and the need to feel included in the process.

2️⃣ Successful change depends on ownership, communication, and incremental progress. Practical examples highlighted the importance of engaging staff early, ensuring they feel part of the change (not that change is being “done to them”), and focusing on communication and storytelling. Incremental “micro-experiments” often work better than big-bang transformations.

3️⃣ AI and technology are enablers, not replacements. AI was positioned as a co-pilot (rather than autopilot) that enhances human capability rather than replaces it. The key is to educate and empower people to use it effectively, ensuring adoption is tied to clear business outcomes and ongoing feedback rather than hype.
