About the event

The Equality Hour - everyone is welcome!

Our host Jess Heagren is an ex-Insurance Director, mother of four, award-winning CEO of Careers After Babies and  That Works For Me, and author of landmark report Careers After Babies.Jess is on a personal mission to make the workplace equally accessible to everyone and works with businesses to make them better employers. She runs the Careers After Babies accreditation programme, is a business transformation consultant, provides ED&I consultancy and supports hiring of parents through That Works For Me.

Jess and each of her special guest's will be shedding a light on some of the topical issues around Equality, Diversity, & Inclusion in a very unboring way.

For this Equality Hour host Jess Heagren will be joined by Caroline Spence, Head of AXA UK&I Chief Risk Office, and previous chair of AXA UK's Gender Equality network.

We all know that women are under-represented in the insurance industry, but what does it feel like to be the only woman in the room all the time? What impact does it have on you personality and your work?

Caroline will talk about her actuarial career to date often being the only woman in the room. This one’s for the men too! Hear first hand how it feels and what you can do when that happens.
